Germany: Annual CPI drops to 1.3% in March vs 1.6% expected

According to the latest estimate published by Destatis, annual inflation in Germany, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), fell to 1.3% in March from 1.5% and fell short of the market expectation of 1.6%. On a monthly basis, the CPI increased 0.4% to match the previous reading but missed the analysts' estimate of 0.6%. Additionally, the Harmonized CPI dropped to 1.5% on a yearly basis from 1.7%.
