Brexit: France hints it may refuse extension, GBP/USD slides

The French Foreign Minister said that his country has a clear message: either the UK ratifies the Brexit deal or it leaves without an accord. He adds that if UK PM Theresa May cannot guarantee that the House of Commons approves the deal, the European Council is set to turn down the request to extend Article 50.

In addition, the French publication Le Point says that France's President Emmanuel Macron tends to refuse an A50 extension in Thursday's European Council. This report has not been confirmed by the Elysee Palace.

GBP/USD is back down, trading around 1.3170 after staging a recovery to 1.3200. Earlier, cable hit a new one-week low at 1.3146.
