NZD/USD breaks above 0.8550, approaches 0.8600

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The NZD/USD rose on Monday amid risk appetite and a weak US dollar. Price broke above 0.8550 during the European session and jumped to 0.8582 (March 17 high) and the pulled back slightly ending the day around 0.8560/65, with a gain of 30 pips.

In the last hours of the American session the NZD/USD remained steady, moving in ranges between 0.8575 and 0.8555.

Technical levels for the NZD/USD

After finding support last Friday at 0.8520 the pair resumed the upside at the beginning of the week, in line with the short and medium term bias. To the upside immediate resistance lies at 0.8580/85 and above here around 0.8600 that capped the rally last week. Support levels now lie at at 0.8550 and below here at 0.8520 and 0.8485.

Wall Street digested well Crimea vote and closes positive

US stocks traded higher on Monday as investors are digesting well the Ukraine vote and developments in Russia. The Dow Jones finally stopped its 5-day losing streak and it closed with a triple-digit gain.
