UK Markit manufacturing PMI returns to expansion in May
The manufacturing sector activity in the UK economy rebounded sharply in May, returning to the expansion territory, after having seen volatile readings since the beginning of the year.
The final Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in the UK rose to 50.1 points in May, after a revised weak reading of 49.4 points booked in April.
The manufacturing PMI data has underperformed over the last months in wake of the upcoming Brexit vote and uncertainty surrounding Bank of England's (BoE) policy decision.
